Benjamin BenZaken is the President and Wealth Manager of BenZaken Investment Group a Retirement Wealth-Care, LPL Registered Principal, Charted Retirement Plans Specialist, & a Radio host.

Ben worked for 11 years at First Hawaiian Bank as a Senior Investment Officer where he gained extensive banking knowledge and financial advisory experience.  Ben has been a financial coach for 30 years helping many individuals, small and large companies, and family trusts. 

Ben's greatest impact at work is the ability to save people time!

Today, as an Independent LPL Financial Advisor (2009-Present) Ben has been helping people find the right information, and coaching them about wealth accumulation. Ben is the host of a live, call-in radio program “It’s All About the Benjamins” covering relevant ideas about investments, insurance, and tax benefit changes pertaining to retirement planning. We believe in educated counseling with your investment decisions, reliable calculations for your retirement-lifetime-income planning and an honest study (need analysis) for a low cost life insurance and long term care insurance.  We should seek independency and sustainable wealth in life.  Ben invested many years of research utilizing comprehensive strategies to manage money, coach and educate clients about the loss of income due to mature age in retirement, seeking ways to create, grow and preserve your assets from the unknown.

Ben has the courage to act in accordance with our core values and beliefs.  Our motive and intent are straight forward and based on mutual benefit.

Helen is a LPL Financial Advisor with BenZaken Investment Group since 2010.  She works closely and personally with her clients and values integrity, putting clients’ interests first, and most importantly building long-lasting relationships.  Helen exudes a genuine passion to provide solid service to clients, prioritizing their needs, and developing customized plans for clients with one thought in mind: how would they really want to spend the rest of their lives.  Born and raised in Hawaii, and a graduate of Santa Clara University ‘02, Helen has been in the Financial Industry for over two decades.  She currently resides on the Windward side, with her husband Kelii and three daughters, Kaile, Kiana, & Malia.  Beyond work, Helen volunteers as President of the PTA for St. John Vianney School, enjoys surfing, gardening, and watching her daughters play volleyball.

 

Shelby McClafferty, Office Manager

Shelby is currently preparing for the General Securities Representative Exam to become a registered representative with the team. She has been part of the BenZaken Investment Group since 2014, where she continues to grow her career and takes pride in helping clients pursue their financial goals. Born and raised on O‘ahu, Shelby graduated from Kamehameha Schools Kapālama in 2011. She loves her work and is especially passionate about building lasting, trusted relationships with clients. Shelby lives in Honolulu with her husband, Taylor, and their son, Teej. Teej recently “graduated” from his work at the office and started his first year of preschool. Outside of work and studying, she enjoys cheering on UH at sporting events, getting shave ice, and spending time with her family.

 

Sarah Wong, Administrative Assistant

Sarah joined the team as an intern in 2021 and continues to support the office while pursuing her graduate studies. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Sciences from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and is currently working toward her postgraduate degree in Occupational Therapy at Hawai‘i Pacific University. Balancing both academic and professional environments, Sarah values the opportunity to develop skills that support her future in healthcare while also gaining meaningful experience in the business setting. Outside of work and school, she enjoys spending time with her nephew, Teej (Shelby’s son), and values quality time with her family and friends.
